Friday was one of "those" days in the Utah bc. Still working the perimeters
of Alta pre-opening day and staying on relatively lower angle shots to
minimize avy hazards, it was face shot city in the deepest spots and,
finally, rock free on the exit. With 70+ in. total snowfall at elevation so
far this is shaping up to be a decent year..bring it on!

Tuesday we found some really sweet snow in the trees on N. facing shots in
E. and W. Silverfork. Some of the best shots were too loaded from Mondays
wind for me, but give it a day or 2 to settle and they'll be in fine form.
Utah sun was getting ready to play havoc with the S. facing stuff but coming
back down to the Alta parking lot it was just thick enough for my new
phatties to stay on top of..plus thickens up the protection from the rocky
base-eaters underneath.

Overall, some damn fine skiing in the 'satch for 3rd week in Nov. and the
weather service is showing a pretty good chance of more snow Thurs.-Sat.

On a side note, between the BC Canyon resorts assaulting the Honeycomb
chutes on one side and Alta conducting bomb practice on the other it was a
bit loud out there...
