Protection after pre-wax (kick wax or klister)
Let's say you iron in some kick wax the night before a race, or apply
some klister in the comfort of your home before heading out to the trails. Do you do anything special to prevent that wax or klister from attracting dirt and debris when you travel to wherever you're skiing? Do you just toss your skis in your ski bag? Relatedly, do you do anything to protect other things from your skis? Torsten |

Protection after pre-wax (kick wax or klister)
One solution I have used is to strap the skis facing tight enough that =
they hold together (but not so tight that the kick zones touch at all) = then wrap the area around the kick zones with saran wrap (i.e. wrapping = as = a pair, so the saran doesn't actually touch the bases). Protection after pre-wax (kick wax or klister)
I tried the Saran Wrap trick the other day for the trip up to Rumford to keep
the ironed-in base klister protected. I don't know if it was the wind on the ski bag or what, but I spent way too much time picking shreds of plastic from the base klister before I could apply the klister du jour. Next time, I will try aluminum foil in the hope the added stiffness will help. And besides what's nicer then waxing skare at -10c? ) For going back I just use toilet paper to stick it to klister so everything is not sticking after that. And at home I clean them anyway. -- Primoz Support - IP/VoIP Connectivity & Routing ------------------------------------------------------------------- Primoz Jeroncic tel: +386 1 562 31 40 | Borovec 2 fax: +386 1 562 18 55 | 1 + 1 = 3 1236 Trzin | for larger values of 1 Slovenija http://flea.softnet.si/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
