Default weekend queues in Madesimo - have they improved since 1992?

Hello all,

I'm thinking about returning to Madesimo for a weekend break after an
absence of 17 years. I remember it as a gem of a resort - the only
drawback being horrendous queues at weekends. I have heard mentioned
that the lift system has been greatly updated and improved since my
last visit...I do notice, however, that the old cable car from Cima
Sole up to Groppera is still in operation - this used to be a real
bottleneck on a Saturday / Sunday morning. Anyone on here been there
recently?
