They were closed for five weeks (!) in January and February. Wow.

Wow - very surprised by this. I remember hearing about the kid swept
off the lift, but didn't hear anything else so just assumed they were
open...

I wondered how an avalanche could happen in the resort until I looked at
the trail map (http://www.skilasvegas.com/), assuming the map accurately
depicts the terrain. Also look at the picture on the "About Us" page.
