Default VFD bus strike?

Perhaps I am not translating it properly, but
the VFD web page seems to indicate a strike is
going on, with bus service between Grenoble and
the major resorts being canceled. Anyone have
any info about what is going on? Should I plan
on renting a car?

Also: a question about the "altibus" service
between Bourg-St-Maurice and Val d'Isere. Their
web site seems to imply a 7+ day reservation is
required for all trips, which makes it fairly
useless for me. Can someone familiar with that
bus line confirm whether that is really the case?
