Default snowboarding with leg amputation

6 months ago I have lost my left leg because of an accident. Before,
snowboarding was one of my favourite sports and now I want to do it
again. Has anyone of you experience with snowboarding with a prothesis
?

I read about people who've managed to ski with TWO man made limbs, so I don't
see why not for snowbaording and one amputation?

Good luck - I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

If you find you can't snowboard with a conventional setup, adaptive
snowboards are not too far off....

The Mountainzone had a story about disabled boarders:

http://snowboard.mountainzone.com/20...tml/index.html

if the link doesn't work go to mountainzone.com and snowboarding, then under
the heading "boarderlines" you'll find it.

Keep on riding

I don't have any experience but I woudln't be surprised. I'm sure this has
been around for quite some time but last season, I was at winterpark and
they had blind skiers that followed the voice or beacon a guide was wearing
in front of them. I'm continually amazed at the things that can be done
under unusual circumstances. Good luck to you.

Lilly,

Contact Lucas Grossi at this web address. http://www.original-gimp.com/

He runs a program and also rides with a prosthetic leg.

Default snowboarding with leg amputation

Ski, boot and leg
proceeded down the hill together, rapidly picking up speed in a
manner that will be familiar to anybody who has seen a runaway ski or
snowboard.

A scarily dangerous situation, but pretty damn funny too.

Extremely amusing tale..I only hope it's true and not a mountain myth!
