Hi, I'm am not a larger footed rider (mondo 25.5), but I have ridden
both Neversummer and Donek boards and I can say both are very good
boards. With size 12 feet and a preference for powder, I would say the
Neversummer (with the wider waist at 26.5 cm and more dampened flex)
will be better for you. Since it is from last season, I am assuming it
is at least 35% off the original price so it will be cheaper as well.

Just my opinion

precisely, the neversummer comes in at £270 (new are £380)

and the Donek totals £320 when you add all the custom duties on top

i gather the neversummer is indistructable,
and i assume it floats well in the powder if it would be your choice....

Yes, the Neversummer boards are as tough you can get. The PTEX
sidewalls is more durable and can be revived from edge damage that
would not be repairable on an ABS sidewall (virtually any other board -
there are some other companies that make PTEX sidewalled boards). A
slight tradeoff of this is that Neversummer boards tend to be on the
heavier side. BTW, Neversummer comes with a 3-year warranty, so save
your receipt and if it breaks (and you didn't hit a rock or a rail) you
should be able to take it into the shop you bought it and get it
replaced.

However, it sounds like you are a bigger guy yourself, so it should
make up well. Also yes, the Neversummer will definitely float better as
it wider at the nose and the waist.

thanks for your help,

i am in a little bit of deliberation now because it seems i have two
options with the noversummer and they will come down to price...(ie a
161 or a 159)

can i ask what bindings you use with the neversummer?

thanks

thankyou for your help

i have bought the 159 as it was significantly cheaper than the 161, i
figure this should be ok as my height is about 181 cm, although i do
weigh about 14 stone....

at my level (beyond beginner but havent ridden for 3 1/2 years) i
reckon its a good length, and the money i have saved will go most of
the way to buying me a better set of bindings

bring on the snow!!
