10k Women's Classic
Norway definitely recovering - or feeling against the wall. What
exactly was Becky Scott DQ'd for and in what place was she when it happened? Gene |

From TSN:
"Teammate Beckie Scott of Vermilion, Alta., was disqualified for skiing in the wrong track in the final stretch through the stadium. " Based on her finish time she hadn't done that well anyway. bt |

From Fasterskier.com
http://www.fasterskier.com/racing3113.html "Beckie eventually was disqualified for leaving the course and not re-entering at the same point. The skiers were to ski a lap of the stadium before the finish and Beckie first started down the finish lane before realizing her mistake and cutting over to the lap lane. The rules require that she should have backtracked to the start of the lap lane and continued on her way." At Umea in 2004, Lukas Bauer posted the fastest time on the course but then was DQ'd for doing something similar - http://www.fasterskier.com/racing924.html |

Here are some photos that show, at least partially, what happened.
http://news.yahoo.com/photos/ss/even...NlYwNzc25hdg-- Looks like he tried to direct her the right way but she went straight instead of going to her left. Photos are from Yahoo. ups.com... Based on her finish time she hadn't done that well anyway. bt She was backslipping badly going up hills. Besides, IMO I think see peaked much too early in the season. At the 2,6km mark, she was already behind the leader by 14 seconds. And the eventual winners hadn't reach that distance yet... BarryT |

Yeah, you sure can tell that from one race. I mean, sure she skiied one the fastest legs at the end of the team sprint a couple days ago, but the she's obviously heading downhill now due to mispeaking.
