Default Help me with U.S.A visit bitte

Excuse for my English. Is not very good.

I come to Salt Lake City for skiing Christmas. Ski in Deer Valley. In Park City, yes? Wife and children desire to see "wild west". LOL. Is possible to take detour for Monument Valley und maybe Moab? Ist possible in four days detour? Very far, yes? What to see?

Thank you for help.

Wolfgang

Excuse me for being skeptical. I am going to assume that you have already been accosted by our resident loon and internationally known internet criminal and accused child molester and are regretting your decision to post here..

However, with 40 years in Utah, extensive personal travel and 12 years as a tour guide of the entire US with emphasis on the southwest I would like to help you.

Moab in 4 day is doable from SLC/PC. Monument is pushing it. Especially with the European idea of distance.

Enough said for now. Convince me, email me, whatever. I'll be happy to provide information.

Thank you Pigo. Your information is as I see from studying. Monument Valley is to great drive for time. We will drive onto Moab, and be tourist there. I understand not "loon". Will beware criminal.

Vielen Dank!

Wolfgang

Moab should take you about 5 hours + from Salt Lake. Go through Price/Green River to get there. Not I-15 I-70. Go to Arches National Park and Canyonlands. The best view of Canyonlands NP is from Deadhorse Point State Park though if you only have time for a quick look. In the winter time things will be pretty quiet and you may to a lot of _seeing things_ from the car. Not as good a season to visit as when it's warmer.

You might think about going South on I-15 to Zion and Bryce National Parks. Bryce cold and snowy, Zion warmer as you drop quite a ways to get there. A little further south and you reach Mesquite Nevada with enough "adult entertainment" (casino's) to spice up the trip a bit.

Real shame that you only have four days to spare for Utah. It's the
most beautiful state.

Or buy gas :-)
