Catch the spirit: here's an excited skier

Did you read Dell Todd's report of his race at Boyne Mt., Mich, at
NordicSkiRacer.com? It's a good one. I think it shows a good gungho
spirit. Dell hasn't been racing all that long but is moving up fast. In
this report, I gather that this is the first time he's hanging with the
lead group as they leave everyone else behind. There's all that noise
and ruckus, then the sense that no one else is back there---with the
group of six or so swooping through the woods, banking left and right
around the curves, getting a little air on the rises, trees flashing
past, everyone clustered together, jockeying here and there, cool as can
be, all the bright suits. He got a little excited. I remember that
excitement. He captures it nicely. With that kind of attitude, he'll be
moving up more next season, for sure!
