Bobcat ski area in NY
Anyone been here? I am planning a day trip to Belleayre mt and found a web
site for BobCat (over 1000ft vertical). How does it compare to Bellaeyre? How about during the weekend? Trail map looks ok, small with 2 lifts, but if it is not crowded it looked ok. Thanks for any comments. |

Bobcat is a much better mountain than Belleayre. More challenging and a
better variety of trails. Don't let the 2 lifts fool you, it's a good sized mountain with lots of interesting trails. Also some good off trail skiing. The lift is actually a T bar, which at 1000 ft verticle can be a pain towards the end of a long day of skiing. Not much in the way of snowmaking either. Only one problem. It hasn't opened in about 4 years. it was a very good place to ski in its day. Uncrowded slopes, great trails. Unfortunately the slopes were so uncrowded that the place wasn't able to stay in business. Hopefully, its only temporary and we'll be able to ski the mountain again someday. If you want great, uncrowded skiing in the region, try Plattekill. It's a great mountain and an undiscovered gem. They don't have much of s snowmaking system, but in a good snow year, Plattekill can't be beat. Edgar Brooks wrote: Anyone been here?
