question about bindings

Those skis certainly sound like they predate alpine skiing as a
distinct specialty requiring lifts, and back in the day of "hike up,
ski down" skiing.

It may well be complete, but intended for the same uses that
telemark/backcountry skis are now used for.

The first release bindings were made in the late 30s, although with
vast improvements after.
