Default How should goggles fit?

I just got a pair of Bolle X500 (for wearing with glasses), and it
fits kind of tight on my helmet with the strap extended all the way.
I've looked up the X500 to see if it is helmet compatible, and getting
mixed answers (some say it is while others say it isn't).

So, I'm just wondering if goggles should fit tightly on the face or
just a little snug but not tight.

Any suggestions or advice will be helpful, thanks!

just leave the goggles on the helmet overnight (in the up/forehead
position) and this should stretch them out a bit.

That will also compress the foam that goes against your face. If you
do this too often it ruins your goggles. I've made this mistake once
and won't make it again.

good point.

maybe tighten the strap up, then leave the goggles on the helmet in
the down/eyes position? then when you slacken them off they should be
a little looser.

any other suggestions?

Not if the foam is where your face should be. Just don't leave
them up on the top of the helmet.
