We just got at least 30 cm of fresh snow, bought myself a pair of Atomic
sx:9 but

WHY DON'T WE HAVE ANY MOUNTAINS HERE IN THE NETHERLANDS?

Sounds ideal for cross-country skiing, or snow-shoe walking! You bought the
wrong type of skis ;-)

Not been recently as the winters haven't been hard enough, but they had two
or three rope tows and nice runs through conifer plantations and an open
field. Any fireman will be familiar with the old "Alcon" pump. this was the
engine used to drive the tows, and very well they worked too!

The Ski-Welt Wilder Kaiser may be some 900km away from you, but at the
moment it is Dutch territory! There are more Dutchmen than locals around!
You even get Dutch Euro coins as change! ;-)

I would freely give up all of our natural gasreservers for one 1.000
meter mountain ;-))

Looks like a useful bit of snow, http://www.nu.nl/news.jsp?n=490509&c=10
