Thought about it some more, and I'm sticking (as it were) with this
statement.

Thinking about the other regions I've skied - UT (PC, DV, Snowbird,
Alta); AB (Louise, Sunshine); BC (W/B, Sunshine again, lol), MT (Big
Mountain), ID (Sun Valley), CO (everywhere) - and the only places I've
encountered snow with this level of grabbing power are Mammoth and
Sierra-at-Tahoe.

Don't get me wrong; I like California skiing for other reasons. The
people are nice, that's for sure.

It's common in UT too.
