Default southern ontario ski areas

I was reading about some of the areas near collingwood and they sound
decent, but was wondering if people familiar with that area had any
ideas for a place that would offer good early snow, some stuff in the
area for a family to do and decent grooming. I have often headed up
to hardwood, but it's kind of nowhere'sville for the family--is horse
shoe valley decent?

Any tips would be helpful, I'm thinking about our thanksgiving
already....

Horseshoe is just down the road from Hardwood, but shares space with a
downhill of the same name which also has tubing. Horseshoe has
excellent trails.

Duntroon, in Collingwood, is excellent and closer to more things to do
for the familly I imagine. There are downhills close by, lots of
hotels and condos to stay at and a small quaint downtown area.

Of the two, Duntroon is likely to have better early snow and far more
likely to groom/make skiable early season conditions. Both have
websites with trail reports you can check.
