Though I use VLC Player often, I'll suggest Zoom Player for these
videos. Somehow I think it provides better video quality and I like the
controls being on the bottom and having keystrokes (e.g., alt-enter for
full screen).

welll hmmmm, i went through the trouble of downloading the divx player i
UNINSTALLED a couple months ago because it seems all videos were playing
through windows media player. the last video from Beitostolen played no
problem...

using divx i had to "convert" it first (pain in the butt)

so will VLC or Zoom player automatically play it? or Videolan?
all easy downloads without toolbars or other junk?

anyone?

Yes, they both should play it straight off. You might also look at
each of their sites to learn about other aspects that make them
versatile. Btw, if you really get stuck and need to do a format
conversion, try Super (free).

If you're converting these races then you're doing something wrong. You shouldn't have to do anything other than download and play them. If you wanna use WMP, download the Xvid codec (www.xvid.com) or download VLC or Zoom player. None of them have hidden ad-ware or toolbars and they're all free. Take you pick and choose, after installed, you should be able to play 95% of the videos on bit torrent, and close to 100% if you have VLC (it's like the Firefox, of media players.)
