Skiing with kids in Innsbruck?
We are planning a skiing trip to Innsbruck in February, and considering whether we should take our 7 year old with us. He is not a bad skier, but rather slow (it won't take long before he says the same thing about me , and I don't mind to ski with him for a day or two, but not the whole week. This is our first trip to Alps and I have no idea what services are available for kids in European ski resorts and particularly in Innsbruck. Are there full day/half day ski schools, how expensive they are, do i need to make reservations long before? Any other information you could share? Thank you, simon... |

He won't get any faster/better if you leave him at home! There will of course be a ski school at Innsbruck. There are schools at every resort & all the Austrian schools are generally good. They usually operate for 2 hours in the morning & 2 in the afternoon & some will provide lunch for an extra fee. http://skisnowboardeurope.com/innsbruck/lessons.html will give you some guide as to cost. There will be plenty more to be found via Google. I. |

You might have a different problem. Innsbruck is a normal town at 600m
altitude (2000 feet). There are no ski runs right into town. If you bring him to the ski school every day it might take quite some time, especially without a car or in case of snow. Try to find out how to get your son to the ski runs. If I were you I would spend my holiday at one of the ski resorts (e.g. Axams) and visit Innsbruck from there. Turan |
