Default Folk ski festival in Russia

We are glad to offer you to take part in People's Ski Holiday, which is
taking place 2006 March, 18th in Moscow.

People=E2=80=99s Ski Holiday combines different ski and biathlon contests a=
nd
consists of three parts. The programme will begin within the so called
=E2=80=9CRetro-race=E2=80=9D. Last year it has made a great stir among ski-=
lovers
in Moscow and the whole Russia. The delight of this race is that the
competitors are wearing equipment of the 1960-s (funny
=E2=80=9Crooster=E2=80=9D-caps, long gaiters, cotton coveralls and so on) a=
nd using
wooden skis, iron ski-bindings, welted leather boots and rarity ski
poles. Famous Olimpic champions and world-beaters attended the
=E2=80=9CRetro-race=E2=80=9D in 2005. All of them admitted, that this race,=
as a
time-machine, gives an idea of how it was 40 years ago =E2=80=93 when the
USSR was considered to be the strongest ski-power in the world.

After retro-skiers the show of archery-biathlonists will be held, who
use bows and arrows in spite of rifles on the firing line. This kind of
sport is rather new for Russia, but year by year it developes here. The
fact that Russian sportsmen take the top places in World and Europe
championships in personal and relay-race certainly prooves it. The best
Russian archery-biathlonists will compete within the People=E2=80=99s Ski
Holiday. Also an amazing fancy-dress show will take place =E2=80=93 as an
excursus to the past. Those who want to shoot at target will have a
rare opportunity to try themselves in archery.

The programme of the Holiday will be concluded by admirable
=E2=80=9CBikini-sprint=E2=80=9D, which first took place year 2005. The main=
term of
this competition is exotic form of equipment. Last year competitors
raced masqueraded Santa Claus and Snow Maiden fancy-dresses,
diving-suits and black ties. And even swimming costumes =E2=80=93 to
correlate with the name of this extremely exciting race!

Coverage will be provided by central channels of television:
=C2=ABRTR-Sport=C2=BB, =C2=ABNTV=C2=BB, =C2=ABTVC=C2=BB, such channels as =
=C2=ABTNT=C2=BB, =C2=AB7=D0=A2V=C2=BB,
=C2=ABStolitsa=C2=BB, =C2=ABTV Yugo-Zapada=C2=BB, and also in press. Beside=
s this all
the skiers from the Russian Olympic Ski Team were invited and we hope
that somebody will find a free time and arrive in Moscow to take part
in the Ski Holiday.
