Default Ski report for Flaine and Grand Massife

Got back yesterday from Flaine and the pisterres are closing down the resort,
stopped the 8 man 9 AM Sat 3rd and closed the DMC because of winds. The cascade
run was oipen Sat AM but 2 drags and a chair and 90 min wait to get to the top
station. still excellent sking to Morrilon and Les Carroz and sameon side of
mountain the Grand Crete run open but icey . It was spring weather all week and
there is no snow forecast till 25th Jan, still probably better than most places

I am just back from Samoëns tonight. Yesterday was indeed very windy.
My wife even got a chair from the Chariande II lift on the head
(finally no serious injuries...), because of the wind pushing it ! From
the snow reports on the french radio, Grand Massif was still one of the
best resorts this week, and we enjoyed a lot Les Carroz and Samoëns,
too much stones in Flaine, definitely on the link "Perce Neige" at the
cross of Samoens, Flaine and Les Carroz.
A couple of pictures of this week to be seen in the french version of
my site at

Let's hope it will snow a bit in the coming weeks, before the feb
holidays come.
