OT skating marathon movie opens Dec 13

The Norwegians have their Birkebeiner (which
happens nearly every year), the French have Tour de France
(which happens every year), but the Dutch (or the Friesians to be exact)
have their Elfstedentocht (200 km ice skating marathon),
which only happens about once every 10 years.

On Dec 13 there is a special opening (attended by crown prince and
veterans on the real race) of the feature film "De Hel van 63" (The Hell
of 63). The movie opens to general public in Netherlands on Dec 16.
It's about the infamous 1963 race - due to blizzard conditions
of over 9000 starters less that 100 finished.

This shows some veterans of the real 1963 Elfstedentocht are interviewed.
Some of the outdoor skating scenes are from the 5 km track "Flevonice" in
Biddinghuizen. Some were also shot in northern Finland.
