Eurosport reports that Austria's Christian Hoffmann isn't going to
enter the 50km skating race on Saturday owing to pneumornia. Perhaps a Mayer-related strain? http://www.eurosport.com/crosscountr...to839637.shtml The FIS start list for women's 30km on Friday is posted, as well, and it doesn't include Beckie Scott (or Sarah Renner). Too bad - I was looking forward to Scott's rematch with Tchepalova over that distance. http://www.fis-ski.com/uk/604/610.ht...C&raceid=10703 Any bets on whether Norway can get a gold in either race? Heck, any medal? (Pedersen and, of course, Bjorgen are already out of the 30km.) |

Marty Hall makes the point in the current Trax that the switch from 4
races in 13 days to 5 would take its toll. Rebecca Dussault is also not in there. Wonder if flu is on second wave. Kristin Steira has a decent chance. Probably depends on how Tchepalova, Neumannova and Smigun are feeling. Gene,
hasn not the Austrian bust not been a total bust. I have read nothing of substance came up. innocuous things were found like equipment team doctor's would use, or legit substances like anti-depressants. but as far as the genuine tests, nothing, nada, zip. curioser and curioser. You might get sick too, if 5 days ago you were subject to repeated strip searches, interrogated for 5 hours, subject to sleep deprivation and well.... let's call it what it is: torture. And despite this torture, didn't Austria pull off some golds in the Nordic combined? I still find it curious why this unproductive raid happened on the night before the relay. How would you like this if it happened to the U.S. Team? Gene Goldenfeld wrote: Marty Hall makes the point in the current Trax that the switch from 4 races in 13 days to 5 would take its toll. Gene,
flu could be on the second wave, or maybe the pharmacy was just closed. Y'know, sometimes drug dealers can be very unreliable. |

Trollers not welcome on rsn. Nor is posting twice under different
names. If you're serious, note that you're in the wrong thread. Gene "1000typesofsnow2" wrote: Gene, hasn not the Austrian bust not been a total bust. Steira skied a fine race, but two of the other three were there. Good
for Kowalcyk for giving it a go. Hope that's a sign of things to come. Another possibility for the Canadians is that Becky and Sara are doing the Vasaloppet, I think, and may have wanted to save themselves and get ready for that.
