Fischer Classic Skis
Nathan,
Sell me a pair of your Fischer Classic RCS skis from the last three years... I weigh 75kg... Jay Tegeder "Stick around this sport long enough and you'll beat everyone at least once!" JT Famous skiers I've beaten; Juha Mieto, Michael Standmann, Boonstra and Jevne... Although, the Boonstra was Todd's younger brother Doug and the Jevne was Erling's uncle Per Gunnar... |

I'll second that order Jay just placed.
175 pounds on a good day. Now I just need some money. The $800 ticket to Sweden cleaned out the savings. JK |

Nathan weighs around 155 pounds I believe. I figure if I can get down
to the low 160s, I can use one of his stiffer pairs of skis. I think you're a little too big JK... Jay Tegeder "On the podium if the right people don't show up!" JT p.s. Nathan hasn't responded so I don't think he has any skis for sale... |

High school graduation 132 pounds
College graduation 145 pounds 1993 - best racing year 150 pounds today - after three kids and 12 years of marriage 175 pounds. I think I'll keep it at that. JK wrote in message oups.com... Leaving High school, starting army service: 55 Kg Leaving army after one year draft: 58 Kg (added 3+ Kg mucle mass probably?) That was in 1977. Today, 28 years and two (currently) teenaged kids later, I'm still 58.5 +/- 0.5 Kg. My best racing year at elite level was probably around 1983, while my best season was 4 years ago, when I was 44 years old and won all the major races in the 40-44 age bracket. These days I'm taking cholesterol medication due to hereditary heart problems, and the only serious side effect (which the doctor warned me of) was that it would make it harder to get rid of lactic acid buildup, i.e. uphills would/could be significantly tougher. Well, they sure are. :-( Anyway, my father is the same size as me, and he's still, at age 73, about 60 Kg, so I don't believe I'll ever add on too much weight. Terje Mathisen wrote: Leaving High school, starting army service: 55 Kg Leaving army after one year draft: 58 Kg (added 3+ Kg mucle mass probably= ?) Unless the "military experience" for a Norwegian conscript differed greatly from that of a Finn, that probability depended very much on what your military specialty was, didn=B4t it?:-) A combination of increased testosterone secretion and military meals would often result in a few extra kilograms of lean muscle mass in a year, but a combination of the duties of, say, a company clerk and those famous canteen doughnuts certainly could result in an observable amount of flab in a few months. (Please note that I=B4m more inclined to believe that you skied up and down those mountains carrying an enormous backpack...) Today, 28 years and two (currently) teenaged kids later, I'm still 58.5 +/- 0.5 Kg. A few less years, but my stats are similar: 61-64-65kg. These days I'm taking cholesterol medication due to hereditary heart problems, and the only serious side effect (which the doctor warned me of) was that it would make it harder to get rid of lactic acid buildup, i.e. uphills would/could be significantly tougher. Well, as they say: "You had your day in the limelights!" Maybe even two:-) BTW some people have had fairly good results with Benecol (naturally together with a proper diet and exercise) and have been able to either drop (naturally after consultation with their doctor) their medication or to reduce the dosage. Well, they sure are. :-( Just out of curiosity (and on a general plan): should you suddenly get an urge to become as competitive as you could be, would dropping the medication for a short period do the trick or would your training be so severely compromised that you=B4d still be handicapped? That is not necessarily true. Nobody ever sells the "best" skis, but
that does not mean that good skis are not sold. Of course, I have never sold any of my skis before, but I have heard rumors of some sponsored racers who get rid of good skis because they have better skis in the quiver that cover the same conditions. When you have been sponsored by the same company for 11 years, you end up with a lot of skis and you always keep the truly exceptional pairs. But for a new pair of skis to make it into the top rung of my quiver, they have to be REALLY good. I don't want to carry a pair of skis around if I will never be racing on them. For the past few years, I've usually traded these pairs of skis that are good, but not necessarily amazing, with teammates. For example, I have a pair of skis that I do 90% of my skate races on. They excel in a lot of conditions, but they are dialed in to just below freezing. I had two pairs of skis that had been in the quiver for years that covered the same conditions. As soon as I got this new magical pair, they did not get raced on once in two seasons. So I traded them to teammates who had similar situations with different conditions. So, theoretically, the same could probably happen where someone sells a pair of skis under similar circumstances.... -Nathan www.natronnordic.com "FrontRunner" wrote in message ...
