Default Keystone opens this weekend

Just got e-mail that Keystone is opening this weekend, a week early,
due to great snow conditions.

And Copper will be opening tomorrow too.

Actually Keystone is lying about the great snow conditions. They have
been planning on opening up tomorrow for at least the last month.
They are talking about the great October snow but all of it has melted
at least up to treeline. The snow up above treeline has been sticking
around for awhile but there is really no natural snow on any of the
trails where people will actually be skiing. It's been good
snowmaking weather at night but it's been in the high 40's during the
day and pretty sunny except for the CA fire haze.

I love how Key is bragging about the 2 feet of NEW along with the
great snowmaking conditions. Loveland has gotten just a couple
of inches over the last two weeks. I think Keystone is having
a Princess Bride problem with the word NEW. "I don't think that
word means what you think it means".

But, maybe hey, with Key open, perhaps I might pick up my A-Basin
pass and USE it with Key taking the pressure off the Basin.

Thanks for setting the record straight. It takes a local (well almost
local) to tell it like it is. I really miss Chester Bullock and his
straight scoop about Copper conditions.

Cool. I can't wait to try out my NEW skis in a few weeks.
