Default Andorra Soldeu - Hotel Sport & SportVillage

Does anyone know how close these two hotels (Hotel Sport and Hotel
Sport Village) are to each other, or even better got a map of hotels
and ski-lifts for the Soldeu resort?

Cheers

They're about 50 yards apart - more or less across the road from one
another. The Sport Village is right next to the gondola to the main ski
station for Soldeu - you wouldn't even need to go 'outside'

if you're choosing between staying in either of them, then I'd go for the
Village even though it's a little more expensive these days.

(I've stayed in both, twice each).

The village's ski lockers are in a more favorable position, and don't require
walking up/down steps (inside the locker room)

If you're looking for accommodation closer to the soldeu gondola than the
village, you'll have to try sleeping in a tent next to the lift...

The rooms are a little nicer in the Village too. The Sport actually has an
annex from another (older?) hotel, and the rooms in there aren't quite as
nice.

As Paul says, these are just across the street from each other. In
comparing the two, the Village is newer, with more plush looking
fittings and an attempted 'slightly posh' feel, whereas the Sport has
a more homely atmosphere with a better bar (which is where the Ski
Club rep meets).

Better if you like low ceilings and the constant reeking of smoke. Plus the
windy draft from the door...

It does have a more bar-y feel to it with the big wooden tables, whereas in
the village it's mainly arm chairs (which you can always get a seat in). The
village does have a view of the slopes though, but it should be mainly dark
when you're in the hotel otherwise you're not trying hard enough.

It's the same management so food is pretty similar, although again there's a
slightly more upmarket feel to the Village.

the food was slightly better in the village, though I'd describe both of them
as high quality, but eclectic.

As for maps I've got the past two season's (and a digital camera), but it
doesn't really matter, these are the hotels to stay in, in Soldeu.

Let me know if you want any more info / or a URL to some pictures which
include a lot of the hotel / rooms / resort.

Alun.

My only memory is one has some very pretty and, in one case, very
friendly receptionists. That's the one on the opposite side of the road
from the pistes.

Hi Dave,
Just joined the group today. We are off to the Sports Village and Sports Hotel next weekend (8 in the first hotel, 4 across the road). Will you or anyone else reading this be there that week (23-30 Jan)?
Went there last year, and it was great.

The Sport Village is Part of the same building as the Main Gondola, and
almost opposite the Sport. We stayed in the sport village at the begining of
December and I would reccomend it (though it isn't cheap!)
