Kitzbuhel
Anybody out there with good inside knowledge on Kitzbuhel- favourite
runs, avoiding queues, that sort of thing? I am going with a party this weekend to sample the snow that just trashed the Downhill - and that includes the stuff on the Hahnenkamm itself. I am most excited. All tips gratefully received. David |

Hi David
Anybody out there with good inside knowledge on Kitzbuhel- favourite runs, avoiding queues, that sort of thing? To my experience it is better to start _not_ in Kitzbuhel, but from the North or west: with the Fleckalmbahn (half way between Kirchberg and Kitzbuhel) or the Pengelsteinbahn (at the road from Kirchberg to Aschau) But be warned. We have this week heavy snowdumps. The avalanche warning level is at stage four (out of five, where five is the worst). The snow dumps are announced to be continuing for the next five days. It is possible, that steeper runs or pistes that are close to steep slopes will be closed, due to the avalanche risk. There will be definitely no offpiste skiing possible. This could become a situation similar to Galtur 1999! Florian |

Thanks Florian. I will put your directions to good use. Not sure what I might do about your avalanche warning though. I hope that conditions will have settled down a bit by the time that I hit the slopes on Sunday. Snow is a bit like our buses. None for ages, then it all comes at once. David |
