Default Mass.' Pine Ridge closed for good?

Anyone out there familiar with this place? It's a small ski area in
Barre, has been around for ages, and just about everyone in Central
Massachusetts learned to ski there. The place is a dump, but I mean
that in the best possible sense. I heard rumors recently that it won't
open this year and may be closed for good.....anyone have any info?

Strange that you should ask. Just this weekend someone I know mentioned
that he's involved with the place (which I'd heretofore never even been
aware existed) and had plans to be there when it opens.

Not sure of any details on exactly what his involvement is or when this
opening is expected to be, but I'd take this to at least be plausible
evidence that those rumors are not true. Maybe someone else has more
definitive knowledge for you.

A friend of my sons was an instructor there.

Well, it closed then opened then closed. From what I heard, the land
was sold to developers already.

There's more info at www.nelsap.org

I thought everyone in Massachusetts learned to ski
at Mt. Wachusett, or Mt. Watatic, or Benjamin Hill
or Ward Hill, or ....

I never heard of this one though.

Sounds like a cute little neighborhood ski area.

Ward Hills was in Michigan, and is now a private residence. I think
they kept one of the rope tows, though.....will take a closer look
next time I drive by.

Ward Hill in Shrewsbury MA has gone by the name 'Ski Ward' for
some time now, sorry. Nice little place. As in little. Still, very nice.
'Small town' ski area.
