Changed skis: sore Achilles
I changed from my old SNS ski set-up that I've skied on for the past
decade (and 20 times this year) to an even older 75mm 3pin for the last couple outtings and, man, my right Achilles is getting sore right down at the heel. Interesting how a change can do that. I better take it easy, maybe switch back awhile. |

Yeah, same trails and style. And everything else different. I've always
been happy in any boot I've tried. I have no exact idea of what to blame here. Maybe it is indeed the boot and nothing else. |

Yeah, it's lots harder. That might do it? I don't really know what the
Achilles does so I don't know what might hurt it. Well, it's tricky stuff, but I can change things that might help, add padding and such. --JP |

Jeff:
I think gr just helped you get to the source of your Achilles tendon problem. It sounds like it is the extra hardness in one of your boots. I haven't had Achilles tendon problems skiing, but I have had them when running, so I looked up a lot of Achilles tendon information on the web. You might want to check the Footwear section of www.AchillesTendon.com (http://www.achillestendon.com/Footwear.html) I found it very helpful. It doesn't mention ski boots, but the information seems to apply to all types of footwear. Phoebe |
