Default Replacement bindings for Snow Blades

I have a pair of 1997 lightly used Salomon Snow Blades that have
broken bindings (yes, both sides - one side drastic, the other has a
small crack starting where the bale hooks on). The skis themselves are
in near perfect condition.

Well, it turns out Salomon does not sell replacement bindings.
Apparently, I'm the only one who has ever broken one, so no need to
stock spare parts. I checked to see if I could get a pair from other
"ski board" companies like K-2 or Atomic and struck out there too.

Does anybody know where I can get a pair of new bindings for my
blades? I know that regular step-in release bindings can not be used
due to their extra length and the resulting detremental effect on the
flex of the ski.

I would be most thankful if anybody can point me to a source of new
bindings so I would not have to throw away a perfectly good pair of
skis. I am willing to plug and re-drill if the screw pattern is
different.

I don't get it. Why would you have to throw out your perfectly good
skis just because your Snow Blades are broken? Why not just ski on your
perfectly good skis and throw out the Snow Blades instead?

Snowblades have also caused more spiral fractures than any other type of ski
since the advent of the releasable binding. Get rid of those abominations!

You'd have to ask the baggage handler.

Short skis are like fat girls: They are a lot of fun but you don't want to
let your friends catch you on top of one.

Overheard from a motorcycle shop owner talking about mopeds. But actually
that's pretty applicable to short skis. I have a pair of 180 twintips and
they are a blast in pretty much all conditions. I used to ski bumps on
GS skis and wouldn't be caught on anything shorter than 210, so I don't
have to fake it. At the end of the day though, I have way much more fun on the
shorter skis. So I don't really care what my friends say. They can argue the
virtues of long skis all they want during the ride up, because I'll smoke
them in the bumps.
