WIDE ski boots
Is there ANYONE who makes a decent extra wide boot, preferably NNN?
This is one aspect of the market that's been missed, IMHO, from all the groups I belong to bemoaning the lack of.... |

I use both Salomon and NNN. I like wide boots.
I just went through getting new classical boots for snow, and ended up With Racing 9 Salomon. Fischers were either too long or too short, but plenty wide. I think that you'll find Rossi in NNN wider than Alpina. If you're talking touring, then I don't know specifics, but most touring stuff is "sloppier" than racing stuff. A friend who has very wide feet tells me he found Alpina's mid-line boots to fit well. Not the top-line red ones but the mid-line blue ones. He just bought their recreational combi boot. -Mitch |

10.5 U.S.
I've found using the European sizing is confusing, as most manufacturers vary quite a bit in their interpretation of the size charts. J999w wrote: What size? jw milwaukee |

Rossi Xium classic are the widest I've tried. Not the Max classic.

I also have wide feet, in my case quite wide.
If you find any boots that are wide I would be very interested. In the days of all leather boots I would use a shoe stretcher and alcohol to get them wider. I am not sure this would work on a newer boot. Thanks Gary |

I, also, am cursed with a simian foot, compounded by a corn on the right
little toe. I finally ended the search for the perfect, or close to, pair with a pair of Rossingnol X-6s one size larger than recommended. The thermal fitting did the trick, and the toe box allows me freedom to actually wiggle my toes. Luckily I have ankles to match and haven't had problems other than the famous skiers toe in the LEFT foot, of all things...a podiatrist cut this way back for me and so far so good. I do tend to get arch cramps at times, but I had those with the other boots I've tried. I have had SOME luck with a boot stretcher I bought on Ebay for about $40 and a proprietary shoe stretching liquid. The Rossignols are far superior though.
