Default St. Anne Accomodations / Lodging

Hi,

I'm in a party of about 12 that are looking for accomodations on / near
Mt. St. Anne for an early weekend in March. Last year we found an
excellent place up near Tremblant, but we're having a much harder time
with St. Anne. Do many people just stay in Quebec City? If not, where
do people find accomodations up there?

Any pointers, information, URLs would be awesome. The few posts on this
topic on Usenet seem to be pretty outdated.

Thanks,
Watson

I was in QC last year in late March; southern Vermont (my home at the
time) was covered with old, slushy, dirty snow but QC was 27F with great
conditions. We stayed in town at Hotel Le Saint-Paul (see
http://www.quebecweb.com/hotellest-paul/introang.html) at the edge of the
Old City but there are probably a lot of other good options in town. My
impression was that March is the time of year when rooms in the city are
at their cheapest & most plentiful.

In addition to St. Anne, there are lots of groomed trails closer to the
city (including on the Plains of Abraham, downtown next to the Old City).
See http://www.rssfrq.qc.ca/carte_piste_eng.html which claims 2000km of
trails within 100km of the city center.

I skied for 2 days at Ski de Fond Charlesbourg, which was about a half
hour drive from our hotel, N. of the city, with 119 km of classical trail
(& no skating!) -- highly recommended if you want to go classical.
