A few seasons ago I successfully modified the disk on a pair of cheap
aluminium bindings by drilling out the holes to extend them. This gave me just enough room to get all four screws screwed in my Burton board (not using the 3D layout, but the almost-4x4 layout that Tiburon27 mentioned). I certainly wouldn't reccomend drilling unless you are totally stuck, and probably wouldnt even try it if the bindings are plastic but it worked for me. Col "letx" wrote in message ... Ride bindings DO work w/ the burton A-hole patterns, but the GNU G2's aren't fitting right, I can only put 2 screws max. Anyone know how to make it fit right?? which holes to put the screws on? or know much it is to get universal discs for my bindings? -- letx |

I would contact the binding manufacturer or check the FAQs on their website to see if/how they can be used with a Burton board. |

Really, that grouping of inserts on a Burton that makes a square doesn't
accomodate a 4X4 binding? "Mike T" wrote in message news:MgGsd.1699$wa3.1582@trnddc02... Burton has a single 4 hole stance option on their boards. Is this 4 hole stance option too big or small for you? The Burton "A-Hole pattern", or 3D as it is offically known, is an equilateral triangle, 42 mm on each side. The industry standard 4x4 pattern is a square "4cm x 4cm" or 40mm on each side. So a Burton board has no 4x4 stance option. There is set of inserts that make a rectangle, whose height is 42 mm and whose length is somewhere around 50 mm (too lazy to measure). A 4x4 disk *can* be designed to to take advantage of that (look for a little |

with Drake LTD bindings and it works fine. Only difference is you have 3 screws holding it, with Burton bindings you would have 4. No, you'd have 3. The Burton standard (except on their Uninc line which has *****2 screws******* which is the king of bad design. The shop employee was trying to tell be this was better becasue you could adjust your stance quicker. But it's only 2 screws holding your bindings on AND the board comes with 2-hole binding disks that you have to use with your existing BURTON bindings. |

... Works with my ride bindings fine, sounds like a few ppl just hate burton. Hate is a pretty strong word but come on, when everyone adopts a 4x4 hole pattern exept one... Maybe it;s that I remember a time before the 4x4 where everyone had their own pattern or when you had to drill your own holes in your board. |

accomodate a 4X4 binding? It doesn't accommodate a 4x4, *strictly speaking*. However some companies' disks will work with it.... *but* most of those disks also work with 3D. |

I haven't been riding as long as Tiburon27, so I don't remember the "drill your own" days... .... but yeah, it's not a hate thing, it's a strong annoyance at being the one and only company that doesn't use the industry standard 4x4. Actually I do have some other quibbles with Burton - I feel they do not pay enough attention to the adult, rider who has no intention of ever going into the park. They used to make some great boards for that demographic - the Supermodel, for example. (Too noodly for me, but I'm too darn heavy) Mike T |

(Too noodly for me, but I'm too darn heavy) There's just not enough of us, and Burton will have to compete with Donek then On the Burton hole pattern.. My Fish has some legal mumble phrase on it to the tune of "this is our patent-protected mounting system, and you can't use any other bindings but Burton's with this board without violating our patents". Or copyrights or whatever. This of course is not enforcable for us owners (fair use), but I would imagine Burton could (but I have no idea if they actually do that) force this on any store that wants to be their official dealer, and on binding manufacturers. |

how much would universal discs be? would anyone know the price ranges ?? I think I've seen them for $10 somewhere on the web. I've got a pair of 3D discs that came with my Flux bindings that I've never used. Contact me if you want them, you pay shipping. Rick guttermonkey**AT**qwest.net (Remove the **AT**) |

We even used to call it the Burton supernoodle. Great board to learn on though. If you don't get your stance absolutely right the board twists and you can't turn. Jay. |
