XC skiing in Acadia NP or White Mountains
We want to spend a week in February XC skiing and snowshoing and are
thinking about going to Acadia NP (Maine) or the White Mountains (New Hampshire). What weather and snow conditions can we expect in these places? What are the pros and cons for each place? Please write to rauschsiATyahooDOTcom. -Hokkene |

Acadia is obviously coastal and snow will be less reliable than the White
Mountains. White Mtns has several excellent groomed areas: http://www.xcskinh.com/snow_reports.cfm Given snow in Acadia, it has a lot of nice carriage roads for ski-touring. Either would be good for snowshoes. Whites will offer more challenging terrain, Acadia more unique coastal scenery. Marty "Penguin" wrote in message oups.com...
