Default Speed Reducers for Marwe 610 skate roller skis

Is it possible to mount a speed reducer, such as the Jenex V2 speed
reducer, on Marwe 610 skate skis? Has anyone tried something like
this?

I think Pro-Ski made or makes a speed reducer that could be adapted to
the Marwes. I don't think the Jenex-V2 models would be easy to
adapt.

The potential problem I forsee with the Pro-Ski model is the tire
composition on the Marwe skis. Speed reducers such as these press a
bearing into the soft tire, and are adjusted up and down with some
sort of cam, lever, or screw to vary the resistance. I think they
will only work with a relatively soft rubber wheel or pneumatic tire.
As I recall, the Marwe wheels are pretty hard, although I suppose you
could find another similar sized soft compound wheel to use on the
speed-reduced end. I would suggest slowing the front wheel, since the
small extra weight there will not upset the balance of the ski, and
the soft tire won't wear as fast in the front position.

Good luck.

This is the reducer a store in the UK suggested, by Start roller
skis: http://www.startex.fi/product.php?prod=186 . Anyone ever use
it before? I do think it would be a problem to use a speed reducer
with a metal roller on a hard wheel like the Marwe urethane wheels.
The UK store claims they've had customers install it on Marwe 610s.
I've asked for one example - any customer of theirs that can comment
on these reducers with the 610 - no response yet.

Anyone use this speed reducer? http://www.startex.fi/product.php?prod=186
A UK store claims Marwe 610 users have mounted it successfully. I've
asked for some references of customers who have done this but haven't
heard back yet. I think the hard metal wheel on the speed reducer
wouldn't work well pressing on the hard urethane Marwe wheels. I've
not yet seen someone use a speed reducer like this on a hard wheel.
