Default Harry Eldridge JOQ/ESGQ Races - Lake Placid - Jan 27-29

All -

The Harry Eldridge JOQ/ESGQ Races and the SLU Carnival are ON for the
weekend of January 27- 29, 2006. The races will use a loop very
similar to the same course as used in the inaugural Goodwill Games.

Thanks to man-made snow, Pisten Bulleys, and the enthusiastic
cooperation of the ORDA staffs of both Van Hoevenberg and the Intervale
Jump Complex we are able to offer a fun racing opportunity. Both the
St. Lawrence University (SLU) Carnival and NYSEF's Harry Eldridge
Memorial JOQ / ESGQ races have been moved to the Intervale Jump
Complex.

These races should be challenging and exciting and will be on good
snow. The course is tough, and follows a current trend toward shorter,
twisting up and down repeated loops. Bleachers are at both start and
finish and it should be a great spectator opportunity.

Snow is plentiful and deep...no need for rock skis. Carnival info is
available through SLU.
The Harry Eldridge Memorial JOQ/ESGQ info is at
http://users.adelphia.net/~dianewfish/index.htm

Saturday will have an interval start freestyle starting immediately
after the SLU carnival (@ 1:00 PM), all J2's 4k(2 laps) all others 8k
(4 laps).

Sunday interval start classic starting at 0900 on Sunday. Same
distances. We will not do a sprint format.

Timing will be by Teambart, http://www.bart.chipco.com and is the same
timer the Carnival circuit uses. Wax rooms at Van Hoevenberg will be
open for evening use and wax tents may be set up at the Jump Complex.
The entire course is easily visible to spectators, so these should be
fun and exciting races.

www.skireg.com online registration has been extended for the Harry
Eldridge races until the 27th. Please pre-register for these events

- Bob
