A lonely skier was the one who took the pictures...

Very nice pics! It looks cold though, was it as windy as it appears?
From a photography point of view the exposure is under done as the snow
appears grey in the later contre jour pics. They still work and look
pretty stunning so who am I to criticise?

Not me, for sure. The photos are not mine :-).
Actually I am still waiting for the better weather. So far there is 2.5m
of (mostly fresh) snow in Tatras and there is no conditions for
backcountry skiing...

Hi Titus,

great pictures, I was already seriously considering to go to Zakopane for a
few days. How are the conditions normally in the first/second week of April
?

Thanks,

Peter

Normally? This winter is not normal.
It is snowing since December. Therefore I am still in Warsaw. But I will
go there as soon as the conditions improves.
Tatry are great for backcountry. But if you are serious skier but you
want to use lift facilities you will be dissapointed (except views
http://www.ga.com.pl/kasprowy.htm)... The point is Kasprowy
(http://www.pkl.pl/mapa_kasprowy.html) is the only mountain with groomed
tracks. Plus some easier pistes in Zakopane on Gubalowka.
