Hey!
What's going on?
I go away for a weekend's kayaking in North Carolina (very nice, thank
you) and get back to find that that interesting skiing news group that
I read but have never posted to has transmogrified into a fan site. I
would have interrupted sooner if I had seen it - but I must admit that
it is interesting to read others' perceptions ('tough'??) and contrast
them with my own.
I have enjoyed the Michigan cup races very much. Knowing that you have
a chance of winning a race adds a lot to the excitement - but there is
no excitement at all in a race that you are sure of winning, so the
Michigan field is perfect for me.
Well, may I introduce myself at last?
Hugh.

Hey Hugh !! didnt know you were a newsgoup reader !! or, maybe you just
became one ! Welcome !
Remember me? I met you at the Vasa when your significant other introduced us
at bib pick up.
anyway, my brief view of London on the way to Stockholm in early March DID
have snow !! Lucky you.
We just picked up another 4 inches of great stuff here at Latitude 45 in
Gaylord.
Off to watch some NCAA basketball.

His ears were burning. : )

OK, so I *wish* a Michigan (transplant) had indeed gotten Top 20
Birkie---but the Top 40's is great, too, for a "local" guy!

It's neat that our homeboys can make Hugh work. Good for everyone all
around.

I hope you got in all the skiing that you wanted this season, JK.
(Maybe one last hurrah today?) I wanted to keep skiing SO BAD a few
weeks ago that it hurt. Every season our snow situation makes it so
that I just start getting good at the END then I'm left hanging.

PS: But I guess now it's time for a little steelheading, bikes, canoes,
morels... (rollerskiing! ? )

I definitely got all i wanted this season. Races x 5 including vasaloppet
and two other marathons.
Plus big hours (for me).
Skis waxed and put away after vasaloppet, no more last hurrah.

steelheading? nope, don't fish
bikes? too old
canoes? too cold
morels? might poison myself
track coach? yes
