The problem isn't that they won't make their own decision, but that they
won't let other people make theirs. That's what makes helmet threads a
danger to sanity wherever indoor people meet outdoor activities.

You have a right to not read helmet threads: killfile anything with
"helmet" in the subject line, and delete the rest unread.
