Default as regards cold hands and feet:

I got some deerskin mitts real wool liners and thin thinsulate gloves this
may seem like overkill but it works.
I bought 1/2 size larger boots an insole with reflective surface and real
heavy icelandic all wool socks I can
finally realy enjoy the outdoors.
