Default Servicing skis

Hi - I had moaned earlier on another thread that my skis had got chewed up
by rocks over New Year. I was advised I should fix them myself.....to that
end..........

I've looked for links that point to servicing skis but can only find ads for
shops that do it. I did some ski maintenance many years ago on a
cross-country ski course in Norway, and I reckon with the right kit I could
salvage my year-old Dynastars. Where can I get the kit - preferably online?

Strange that, I recall looking a couple of years around the web and not
finding many links on how to do it. I'll have to take a few shots with
the digital camera next time I do mine, which ought to be this week.

What you need ?

Real stuff :

Ptex
Wax
Edge tool

Household stuff:

One of those long lighter things for lighting the stove. Best way of
getting a ptex candle going.

Old iron for wax

Some cross sections of cycle innner tube for locking the brakes.

Peice of plastic/perspex for wax scraping

Wire brush for wax and cleaning

razor blade and knife for removing excess ptex

I reckon it takes me about 30mins for a pair of skis to fill holes, edge
them and wax. Sometime I just wax them which saves 10 mins.
