I am keen to find any others who are interested in Scottish backcountry
skiing / boarding.

I know of:

Tayside Nordic Ski Club (contact me if interested
Edinburgh Ski Touring Club (http://www.ednordic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk)
Inverness Nordic Ski Club (http://www.invernessnordicskiclub.org.uk)
Glasgow Ski Touring Club (http://www.geocities.com/glasgowskitour)

all of which are backcountry tour oriented. I doubt you'd be turned
away with a board, but I doubt you'd find the typical itineraries
particularly board-tatsic...
