Numpty Google Earth question
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Champ saying something like: On Wed, 09 Jan 2008 13:05:43 +0000, Grimly Curmudgeon wrote: Try http://www.welove2ski.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk=530. But even if it was, how useful would it be? You'd get "white", or "not white". The snow could be 0.5cm deep, or 30 metres. I gather that's important to you types who insist on sliding down hills with planks tied to your feet. Oh yeah, but when conditions are *really* crappy (as they are right now in the Pyrenees) you do get an awful lot of brown as well. Numpty Google Earth question
In article o.uk,
The Older Gentleman wrote: It's not in real time, is it? If not, then how far off? Real time? Try years. A photo interpreter can deduce some features (seasons, weekends, etc.) They don't offer you important ancillary data. This is not a professional photo service: it's only there for you to attempt to look at your house and as an Internet proof of concept. Perhaps the most dramatic emergent feature I've seen on Google earth are the layers zooming down to the islands being made off Dubai. One level: nothing, then boom, they added them. And if there's an option to set it to real time (or close), then how? Launch a new satellite or fly a plane and take data. Yes, guess who wants to examine the snow cover from altitude, as it were? Professional snow hydrologists. That was an early job which paid for me to learn to ski. -- |

No it's not in real time and the results for each area can vary widely -(probably depending upon popularity). E.g. the photo of my house is over two years old, but that of my parents, less than 6 months. -- Cab :^) - I'm dyslex-spic apparently Hah-hah! - TDR 125 UKRMMA#10 (KOTL), IbW#015, BoB#4, POTM#3, SKA#1 email addy : ukrm_dot_cab_at_rosbif_dot_org |
