Between Running Springs and Snow Valley. When I first started skiing it was a tiny area for everybody. Rope tows, just throw your gear inside the ticket-selling hut, bring your dogs on the slopes, etc. You parked down next to the lake and rode up to the area on a bus. Very nice old-fashioned feel. Good for one day. At some point it switched to boarders only for maybe two years. Then x-country only. I think it's closed now. http://goo.gl/maps/8wGnO I know that wheeled borders exclude bikes from "their turf" in some areas. -- Cheers, Bev ================================================== ============ "Arguing on the internet is like running a race in the Special Olympics: even if you win, you're still retarded." |

I remember when Mammoth didn't allow them, but their sister June Mt. did. June had one of the biggest half-pipes in the country and constructed jumps on some of the trails. Snowboarders were a bif part of their business. When Mammoth opened up to boarders, they used that experience to build up the boarder elements quickly, and almost killed June's business off. |
