V2 150 fork failure - switching to v2 125s
Hi,
Just had a rear fork break on my V2 150s. As it happens, I also have a pair of V2 125s with holes for 125 and 150 wheels and so I'm in the process of fitting the 125s - swapping out the wheels and bindings (they happen to be Solomon whereas I use NNN). I believe that most of weight-related issues with V2 125s had to do with their smaller wheels, so I'm hopefully taking care of this by putting in the bigger ones. Should I also expect their shaft to be weaker? I'm 185lbs and I thought I'm being prudent using the larger ski, and look where it got me Seems like I should also expect the rear wheel hang to be worse - with my toe so much closer to the front wheel (I'm size 46), its arm is almost non-existent compared with the 150 ski. Oh, and while I'm aware of potentially better skis, the large pneu wheel really worked for me by allowing me to roll right out of my garage rather than having to seek out better pavement. So, would appreciate your thoughts on transitioning to the smaller ski. Thanks! |
