First snow
I went north this week hoping to make contact with some snow. My
first choice was Mt. Shasta because there are some established glaciers there, but things didn't work out that way. Instead, I ended up at Lassen Volcanic National Park. My desire was to climb up to some of the snow patches visible from a distance, so I headed up the park road. It was easier than I thought - there was a large pile of leftover snow in one corner of the Lassen Peak Trail parking lot (about 8500 ft). So I walked over to it, slipped off my beach sandals, and walked barefoot across the pile. |

About 3/4 sour and 1/4 strawberry. Vote for Romney. Repeal the nightmares. |

What is predicted to be 6"-12" is falling in the upper Sierra right
now. Maybe I can get my October-Mammoth ticket punched (I already have November through May). |

Went golfing this morning and this afternoon cutting the grass. Vote for Romney. Repeal the nightmares. |

Snow summit cams show some snow, not enough to ski on. Will the weather hold long enough for the snow guns? |

Mountain High, according to their email, thinks it will, but they're stupid about everything else, why should this be different? -- Cheers, Bev ---------------------------------------------------------------- "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.
