Thanks for such useful information Matt (& Brian) - have to say the Tignes
website is really useless for pass info.

BTW what little community? and probably more to the point what pub?

Cheers

Still can't work out why this should be though - is there rampant Senior

It's because they get them free, so they wan't to make sure they're
not simply hading them out to friends and family.

Quite possibly - if anyone knows "Old man" Tony up here in Tignes,

Which Tony? There are at least two, one of whom was 75 when I last
skiied with him thinks three years ago. I saw him again at xmas
2005, when he was just recovering from a broken ankle.

the
night of his 70th the other week, he was very bitter about the fact
they keep putting the age up to qualify for a OAP pass.

So which Tony is this - ex BASI guy who wears a blue Spyder ski suit?
TBH I can't remember whether he was one of the Tonys or the Johns...

In any event, pass on my regards - I had a great few days[1] with the
old boys at Easter 2004 (or 2005?), including leading them down a
kilometer of powder on the front side of Cugnai, which impressed them
no end because it wasn't in the 'Hors Piste' book (although it's since
been added.

I reckon
they're all looking to screw the system to get their own back...

Nothing wold surprise me from that mob.

[1] I wasn't actually repping at the time, but the rep was so
inundated by 20+ punters turning up each day he asked me if I'd help
him out.

Unless he was embarassed about his age, he definitely only turned 70
last month, not 78. He does wear a blue (and yellow) jacket at the
moment though, which might be Spyder. Lives in Lavachet, takes a lot of
great photographs, likes a drink, top bloke.

I'll say hi!

Found some video, shot on my stills camera, so not very good (and best
with sound off to mute my heavy breathing).
http://b.rogers.ifrance.com/
Clip 98 shows two possible tonys - the first guy down, wearing a
helmet, is the one I now think you mean - the last guy is the other
one that I was thinking of, who I now think was a John, not a Tony.

(Excuse the crappy html)

Now I remember - the older guy I was thinking of is Mike, as is the
other one I mentioned.

Gawd, what a memory - like a... er... thing with holes in it...

Hi Ace,

You might want to make those URI's HTTP 'cos we can't see your file system.

No amount of apology will make those links work for the rest of the world
;-)

Damn. Fixed now, I hope. But they're not really much cop anyway, as
video goes. Very low res. Just for ID really.

....and after all that, I don't think it's either of them, but the blue
suit of the last guy is definitely the right colour...:-)

Thanks anyway. You skiing again yet?

The more I thought about it, the more I realised I was wrong, but the
first guy down in that clip is a seaon-long resident called Tony, tall
guy (and I'm 6'2", so he must be at least my height or I wouldn't
notice), some greying hair around the edges but nothing on top, life &
soul, although often seems slightly alone, IYKWIM.

Thanks anyway. You skiing again yet?

Jude[1] just mentioned that she's planning to go with a friend next
weekend (20th) so I'll probably tag along and see how it goes. I was
fine for a ten-mile cycle ride on rough tracks last Sunday so I'm
hopeful.

[1] Who's also in several of the clips
