Ah, you're just chicken.

Remember: Michigan black diamonds are not like the black diamonds out
west.

Unlikely to happen at Bohemia. But it's a real possibility he

Al Quaal Recreation Ski Area, Ishpeming, MI
Average annual snowfall: 160"
Vertical drop: 70'

I don't think you'll find a higher ratio of snowfall to vert anywhere.

OTOH, if the hill's snowed in, you could always visit the US Ski Hall
of Fame. http://www.skihall.com/location.htm

Bohemia is in Africa.

Note for midwesterners (and anybody else looking for something
different): looks like the lake effect should be dumping on the
Keweenaw late this week and through the weekend (if johndee.com is
right), so I'm planning to dodge MLK-weekend crowds and head for
Bohemia. If anybody's been curious about the place, this could be a
good weekend to check it out. Although it might be a bit bracing;
weather.com calls for a high of 0 on Sat., and a balmy 3 on Sun, which
ought to keep the lift lines short and the powder fresh. Just FYI.

Where is this Bohemia you speak of ?

I'm skiing again tomorrow too! Where are you going?

Taos.

That wasn't too hard to figure out. I was asking bfuddld. He mentioned that
he was going.

He got to be thankful they don't get 500". The hill would disappear.

giggle. Cute, o cranky one. I'm headed for Baheemya, natch.
That's how this whole folderol started. They bill it as "Rocky
Mountain skiing in the Midwest", but that's BS - they got WAY too much
O2 for that line to fly. You wouldn't like it; they got boarders.
What's interesting, though, is that the hill has no beginners, either
boarders or skiers, and IMHO, that actually makes at least as big a
difference as banning boarders does.

I've only been in the southernmost part of Michigan. I think I could see the
northern part though.
