La Plagne advice
I'm off to La Plagne (Belle Plagne) next w/e for the first half of the
Easter holiday. I'm an 'intermediate' boarder, but I'm travelling with the family for the first time. My wife and two kids (9 & 12) have had dry slope skiing lessons for the last few months and are shaping themselves OK. They have morning lessons with ESF for 6 days. I'd appreciate any general advice on where to go and where to avoid; for me alone in the morning, and as a family in the afternoon. I've only ever boarded in L'Espace Killy so don't know the area at all. Finally any advice for a decent restaurant in any of the easily accessible villages from Belle for my daughters 12th Birthday. Thanks.............Mike |

La Plagne advice
My favourite runs are the tree lined runs down to Les Coches.

La Plagne advice
Just got back from there last weekend with my 7 & 8 year old
first timers. Most of the blues back from Arpette Chair are relatively managable, some have a few uphill sections, so not sure how good they would be for a boarder. For a short blue for progressing the first timers onto, you could try "Belle Plagne" which you find by heading around the back of Gondola station. My 7 year old was happy with that after a couple of days. The kids managed Ramy, Belott and Bridge after a few days, by then you'll have found your way around !! A bit of advice for Belle Plagne... If you're in the Pierre et Vacances apts, then there is a lift from the main shopping area (head right at the bowling bar) which avoids THE STEPS. The bowling bar is a great place to take the kids. There are two Spar's - one at the top of the lift and handy for the apts, the other in the main shopping area is larger but more of a walk. Enjoy. |
