It snowed in Lake Placid when I was up there a week ago. The highway
to the summit was closed, but there were a bunch of cars there, and a
few guys were just hopping on their bikes with packs and skis. It's
been sunny and 75 degrees here in the Fingerlakes though - not even a
whiff of fall, let alone winter!

Yah, I talked with my brother in NH. He said it was 80 degrees last
week while it was snowing here. But now we're getting warm and
dry. Just got back from a hike up S***** F*** Canyon and the snow is
getting all manky and slushy. Dogger was postholing, but there were
lots of moose tracks. Lot's of ski tracks, too. Going right by the
house. Die hards. Silly skiers. Oddly, no snowboard tracks. Whassup
wid' dat.
