Default TR Moonlight Basin

Originally went to Bridger this morning since they had 48 inches of fresh but
they couldn't get the mountain open with all the wind so I headed south to try
out the newest ski resort in the US. Moonlight is on the North side of Lone
Peak adjacent to Big Sky and has about 1500 acres and 2000 feet of vertical as
well as the only 6 passenger chairlift in Montana. The truly steep stuff
requires a 20 minute hike to the Headwaters area where you have your choice of
about 9 chutes. Lift served terrain is very mellow and skis very nicely with
about 12 inches of fresh like today. The Northern exposure keeps the snow in
great shape. Definitely worth a visit if you're spending some time in the
area. And the half day lift ticket price was $25.
